Alyson had a fantastic final soccer game. For the first time all season, she was excited to be there, excited to play. She still wanted me to stay right by her, but she did wonderful. She dribbled, she even passed a teammate when following the lines with the ball. She still doesn’t like to play Sharks & Butterflies and just watched. She scored a goal during practice again, although she was intimidated by the 4th grade assistant coach standing near the net.
During the game, for once she actually RAN AFTER THE BALL. Those following this saga will understand this is a HUGE improvement over the past 5 weeks. She played in both halves and even had a great stop in the second half. We’re SO proud of her for getting out there and playing. She had so much fun. She even enthusiastically put her hand in and participated in the cheering, and went out without me to high-five the opposing team at the end.
I will admit I did bribe her some… we did go out to her favorite coffee shop after, and she got to spend a few minutes at the playground. She was excited to be able to bring home her very own soccer ball to keep.
Both soccer games were at the same time this week, so Bill will have to post about Brandon’s game.
